My team worked with the new owner of the Madrona Hotel in Healdsburg to transform what was a dated, but lovely Victorian bed and breakfast estate to a chic, modern, moody and upscale 24 room boutique hotel. This project has been featured in Sonoma Magazine, Architectural Digest, and California Home and Design magazine. We performed extensive renovations to all of the guest rooms and bathrooms across 6 different buildings and completely transformed the grounds including all new sidewalks, pathways, parking and ADA improvements. The commercial kitchen was completely gone through and a new bar was added to a front parlor. All of the exteriors of the buildings were painted and received new roofs. The interior finishes of all of the buildings were replaced including flooring, tile, wallcoverings, light fixtures, paint, etc. The new design of the hotel retains the aesthetic from the original buildings (circa late 1800s) but brings them up to date with a truly unique design.
We worked with the owner of this commercial building in a design build capacity to establish the overall look for the refresh of the aging 1950s era exterior facade. Working within a tight budget we put together a list of items for the owner to choose from that would have the most impact for the cost.
We suggested removing the tattered and tired awnings that were added sometime in the 1990s to expose the building’s original character and design. A modern color palette was selected and exterior windows were replaced and repaired to preserve the integrity of the building. A more modern metal awning will be placed over the exterior door at the rear of the building to provide a pop of color.
The first phase of renovation for the Daniels School, a historic 132 year old one room school house outside of Healdsburg, has been completed. Along with a small group of contractors and volunteers, we worked with the Vornado Historical Society to breathe new life into the school house that sat unused for decades. Our contributions included installing a weather barrier, new siding and trim, bringing in a new 100 amp electrical service and installing light fixtures. The Daniels School will now be used as a learning center for school children in Sonoma County to see what the area schools were like in the early 1900s.

We worked with our client to transform an old office space in to a warm and inviting photography studio. Some of the highlights of the project included a new exterior sign, wood flooring, and new trim.
